MIRROR BOX VIDEO
black & white HD video | 5:14 mins | 2022
part of THE LOST TIME PROJECT

A special projection box was built for the presentation of the video, which created an infinite mirroring effect. Some of the footage was shot on the Polish/German border. The video includes scenes of the power station Turów as well as views of the river Neisse filmed through a train window. During the last years a lot of spruce trees died as a result of bark beetles - some video material was recorded in affected local forests. The fragments of the narrative are assembled via montage and depict aspects of time, travel, nature as well as older and newer energy production. The video can be seen as a starting point for developing a project in the area which is characterised by the tripoint where Germany, Poland and Czech Republic come together.

Many thanks to Deutscher Künstlerbund e.V. for supporting the project.
